You can’t see your blind spots
Whether you’re blind or sighted, your biggest obstacle is the one you can’t see. What you can see, however, is:
- Inconsistency: You’re good one day… average the next… and you don’t know why.
- Stagnation: You start playing safe, stop taking risks, and stay in your comfort zone.
- Decline: Your level drops off gradually or suddenly.
But these aren’t the causes of underperformance … they’re the symptoms.

Meet Darren Harris
Darren knows what it means to face adversity. After losing his sight to a rare childhood eye cancer, he underachieved at school, university, and in the workplace – held back not by his blindness, but by his blind spots. When he learned to see past them, everything changed. Today he is a Football Hall of Fame inductee, and England’s most capped and decorated blind footballer, now helping others identify the blind spots limited their potential.

The Cost of Doing Nothing
Blind spots don’t disappear on their own.
“The saddest thing isn’t failing. It’s never knowing how good you could have been — because the thing holding you back was invisible to you.”
Without intervention, talented people spend entire careers performing below their potential. Not through lack of effort — but because nobody ever helped them see what was in the way. That’s a cost no organisation can afford.
